Just Duckie
This weekend, Nana introduced me to a new friend--Lucky Duck. I call her Duckie for short. Duckie and I got along right away. I think it has something to do with the really cool pacifier attached to her beak. Anyway, I brought Duckie home from Nana's house to meet all my other duck friends. There's the flock of ducks that circle my head at night when I swing to sleep. There's even Duckie's distant cousin Rubber Duck. He likes to take baths with me, and he even has a song that Mommy and Daddy like to sing off key at bathtime while they make silly faces. Really, it gets in the way of a perfectly pleasant and relaxing bath... but they seem to enjoy it so much that I don't want to hurt their feelings. Anyway, Duckie's such a great friend that she makes me feel better when my tummy hurts and when I just need to relax. Today, we decided to take a nap and to dream about the future adventures of Evie and Lucky Duck.
Hope you have a duckie day, too!

One picture we must try to catch is at the end of one of her crying spells when Evie, with tears in her eyes, looks at you with the corners of her mouth turned way down and her bottom lip curled out.

That's very true! It's a classic Evie face... and I've been trying to catch it on film. She seems to sense, though, that I have the camera out... because just as I'm about to take the picture, she smiles. So, she's either already aware of the fact that she's fussing for attention... or she's a "ham." God help us if it's either!
